I have family coming in town for the weekend later this afternoon, so I've updated the website earlier than usual this week! I can't even remember the last time I added a new scene on a Thursday, LOL!

Website Update: High School Reunion

This weekend's website update is a special "double feature" which brings you new model TJ in his solo "audition" as well as his first action scene!

For me at least, this is one of those scenes where the real-life, behind-the-scenes story makes the action ten times more interesting and exciting to watch. Hopefully I've done it justice through the interviews and official scene summary.

Don't get me wrong - the action is pretty damn hot on its own. But the story behind it is so funny and unique and definitely something most gay and bi guys can relate to. And unlike some of the "reality porn" scenes I film where I play a significant role in shaping the story (my "game show" with D-Rel, for example), this one just landed right in my lap and surprised the hell out of me (not to mention Beno and TJ)!

I should mention that TJ is definitely the most feminine guy I've filmed so far. If that's not your cup of tea, rest assured that he's the *exception* for BBA, not the rule. But since I took down Snoop's "audition" before many of you had a chance to enjoy it, I threw together at the last minute this 20-minute compilation for the "Bonus Footage & Outtakes" section of the site. I have permanently removed last weekend's update from the website. Perhaps I will share my reasons for doing so in the future, but right now I am so fucking annoyed and pissed off by the huge waste of time, money, and energy that Snoop has cost me that it would probably be wisest for me just to bite my tongue and avoid saying something I'll later regret.

I know a lot of you really liked Snoop and wanted to see more of him, but I'm afraid you will *not* be seeing Snoop again, at least not in association with BBA. I'm sorry for getting your hopes up by sharing his "audition" with you last weekend, but trust me when I say that this is the right decision and BBA is much better off without him.

I guess these things go in cycles. 2009 was a fantastic year for BBA. I honestly couldn't have asked for things to go any better! I finally launched the website and enjoyed building it up from scratch week after week and month after month. I discovered several amazing new guys, filmed some truly hot and unforgettable scenes, and had a lot of fun doing something I love with relatively little "drama" to spoil the fun.

But 2010's been a whole different story so far! I feel like every time I turn around there's a new setback or challenge or "Model Drama of the Week" to deal with.

Don't worry, though, I'm not letting these setbacks stop me from working my ass off behind the scenes to find hot new guys and film plenty of hot and unique scenes for you to enjoy in the weeks and months ahead! Website Update: When Roles Reverse

I just updated the website with a new hour-long scene! Here are some excerpts and screenshot previews from the scene's official description:

This is usually where I'd share a few behind-the-scenes stories, or add a personal reflection or two on the scene, but it's already past 7 a.m. Sunday morning and I desperately need to get some sleep! I think I'm pretty straightforward about what turns me on the most about a scene in the official scene summaries anyhow.

Before I forget, I'd love it if anyone can figure out what Tori says to K-Snakes at 15:46 in Part 2.

As you've probably already noticed by now, I usually try to provide subtitles for the bits of dialogue that I think might be hard for viewers to hear and/or understand. But this was one I just couldn't decipher even after replaying it dozens of times!

By the way, let me take a moment to say that I *love* how expressive Tori gets in his scenes. He is probably second only to Beno when it comes to being BBA's most verbally expressive model. Although in contrast to Beno, I think Tori's exclamations are much more natural and spontaneous, less self-conscious and theatrical than Beno's if that makes any sense. Dealing With The Realities of "Reality Porn"

There is always going to be a high turn-over rate when it comes to the people performing in porn. I've lost count of how many times I've become infatuated with a beautiful new model on some website or DVD, only to see him disappear after one or two scenes, never to be seen or heard from again.

Now that I'm a producer myself, I'm learning the hard way why that is the case.

Sometimes it's simply due to some change in a model's circumstances or interests. For example, models might move to another city, go off to college, or get involved in monogamous romantic relationships with partners who don't like the idea of their boyfriends sleeping with other men for a living.

For some guys, doing porn is just a spontaneous, short-term thrill like bungee-jumping or sky-diving, something they do once just to say they've done it, but will most likely never do again. For others, it's an impulsive decision, a quick way to pay off a debt or escape a difficult financial situation - a desperate and temporary last resort.

But I suspect that most of the guys who disappear from the porn scene after only one or two scenes do so because of the exposure, harassment, and discrimination that frequently faces those working in the adult entertainment industry. The fact of the matter is that while porn is much more accessible and mainstream than it was just ten or twenty years ago, we still live in a religious, sexually repressive country where there's still a social stigma surrounding porn and the people who make it. The really fucked-up part is that those who make pornography a multi-billion dollar industry by joining its websites and buying its DVD's are the very same people judging, exposing, and shaming their friends and relatives who actually make such adult entertainment possible!

Add to that the fact that there's still such widespread ignorance, disapproval, and even hostility toward men who have sex with men, prejudice that runs especially rampant within the black community - and it's not hard to imagine the kind of treatment that many black males performing in gay porn are subjected to by their families and friends, or understand why that might be too much for some guys to bear. Especially since many of the guys I work with are either straight or bisexual and "on the DL" - guys whose sexual identities are already so confused and conflicted and contradictory to begin with, which of course only increases the risk of them experiencing regrets or complications in their personal lives as a consequence of doing gay porn.

Now I could do what a lot of gay producers do and work exclusively with out-and-proud gay males. I'm guessing that's why there are so many laughably fake scenes on the so-called "straight bait" sites starring girly gay boys trying to pass themselves off as straight virgin frat-boys or jocks and other nonsense like that. Those producers profit from the fantasy of seducing a straight guy while sparing themselves the stress and drama that come with pursuing actual real-life straight boys.

But I choose to work with straight, bi-curious, and bisexual guys "on the DL" because in my opinion they are the most intriguing and exciting to watch and film (although I do work from time to time with some very cute gay boys as well). I assume that if you're a fan of my movies, you probably feel the same way.

But by seeking out this unique brand of "reality porn" (me making it and you watching it), we also have to accept that reality oftentimes fails to conform to our fantasies. Most of these guys will never become popular gay "porn stars" starring in dozens or even hundreds of scenes. Most of them will never go "all the way" (i.e., anal penetration) - at least not for the money I'm able to offer them. And sadly, a lot of them will only appear in one or two scenes before changing their minds or getting scared away from gay porn for good.

With this introduction in mind, here's some sad news about three popular BBA models that we will most likely not be seeing again:

Lil Steve

A couple weeks after Lil Steve filmed the scene in which he tried sucking dick for the very first time, I received an email from him begging me not to release it. Although he didn't go into much detail, I got the distinct sense that friends and/or family members had already found out about his scene with Dragon. Suddenly his curiosity and openness to try new things was now replaced with fear, embarrassment, and regret. I explained that while I understood and sympathized with his concerns, I couldn't take down scenes every time a model changed his mind or experienced regret (a lesson I learned following the Lil Luda fiasco).

That was the last I heard from Lil Steve until a few weeks later when I decided to see if things had maybe calmed down for him enough that he'd consider coming back for another scene. Sadly, he refused to do any more scenes - "no matter the price." And I haven't heard from Lil Steve since.

Lil Steve's decision not to come back for more scenes is disappointing but not surprising. He actually went a lot farther than I ever thought he'd go - I don't think a lot of you appreciate what a huge step it was for him to suck another guy's dick! I just have to be grateful that he gave us as many scenes as he did.

D-Rel

For the past several months, I've tried just about everything to persuade D-Rel to come back for another scene. I've propositioned him with *twice* what he earned for his encounter with me, which was a ridiculously large sum of money to begin with. I even offered to film him in a scene with a female, hoping the promise of pussy might at least lure him back. But every time he has turned me down without any hesitation whatsoever. The last email I received from him read, "Nice try. Have a nice life, bruh!" And he's ignored all of my emails since then.

For several weeks after D-Rel's scene with Suspense, he ignored Suspense's phone-calls and emails as well. I'm not sure if it was because he was embarrassed about everything they'd done together in that scene, afraid that Suspense had learned about him going "gay for pay" with me, or both. Whatever D-Rel's reasons were for avoiding his friend, Suspense honestly thought for awhile that their friendship was over. When school started back up, they began hanging out again, although Suspense told me that D-Rel made it clear he didn't want to hear or discuss anything related to me or BBA.

I still don't know if any of D-Rel's friends or family members have found out about his scenes, or the role (if any) that's played in his refusal to come back for more.

My theory is that D-Rel's scenes scared the hell out of him!!!

More accurately, his *reactions* to those scenes scared the hell out of him. They tapped into and exposed his curiosity if not blatant desire for sex with other guys, both to himself as well as anyone watching. After watching and re-watching D-Rel's scenes several times, I am now convinced of what many of you tried telling me from the very beginning - that D-Rel is bisexual or at the very least bi-curious.

The problem is that I don't think D-Rel's anywhere close to being ready to admit that or embrace it just yet....not even to himself, let alone his family and friends. I honestly don't think he's faking his discomfort or disgust in those scenes. I think his reactions are exaggerated but nevertheless sincere.

And I can't say I blame him. Even though D-Rel has that innocent, wholesome, even goofy quality about him, he's grown up in one of the most impoverished, dangerous, crime-ridden cities in the Midwest, and he's obviously internalized much of the homophobia and repressive definitions of "manhood" that surround him on a daily basis.

Like many of you, I suspect D-Rel might be more experienced with gay sex than he's letting on. I honestly don't know, and I'll probably never know. However, having seen that beautiful asshole up-close, I'm 99.9999% certain the boy's never been fucked!

Still, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to watch D-Rel's scenes and see that trapped beneath that cocky, homophobic straight-boy facade, there's a horny, submissive "bottom" just dying to get out ! (Okay, I admit I didn't see it at first, but with your help it eventually became obvious). Trust me when I say that nobody wanted to see a dick split open that beautiful butt more than me!

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before somebody out there unleashes D-Rel's inner freak. And damn do I envy the man lucky enough to pluck that sweet little cherry!!!

I have a feeling that D-Rel's journey of sexual self-discovery has only just barely begun. Sadly, the next chapters in that saga will more than likely be taking place off-camera. I guess we'll just have to imagine what happens next ....

As most of you know, I had it *bad* for this beautiful boy, and it's been extremely hard to accept the fact that I will most likely never see or touch or film him ever again. Who knows how long I'll be doing this, but I have a feeling that even if it's with hundreds of models for decades to come, I will always remember D-Rel as one of my all-time favorites.

Suspense

By far the saddest news I have to share is that Suspense has decided to quit.

Shortly after arriving back in town after the holidays, I received an email from Suspense saying that he no longer wants to do porn, and that he regrets ever meeting and working for me.

It's impossible to put into words just how shocked and hurt I felt while reading his email. I had grown closer to Suspense than just about any other model I've worked with. I truly considered him a friend as well as a model. He too had referred to me as a friend on numerous occasions, and I have dozens of emails from him over the past year in which he's had nothing but positive things to say about his experiences with BBA.

What made Suspense's announcement all the more shocking and bizarre is that *less than a month ago* he was telling me about a friend of his he was trying to recruit for me ("Don't worry, I'll have him at your doorstep naked in no time," he promised in a recent email). He'd also agreed to do a scene similar to Dragon's Schoolboy Confessions in which he'd answer questions from his fans. The scene with Tori was filmed less than three weeks before this email. He had even applied to work for Flavaworks (totally on his own), and was planning to do several video-shoots for them over the holidays!

Now Suspense has had his mood swings in the past, but nothing even remotely close to this!

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing that Suspense experienced some kind of religious "conversion" over the holidays, and that this dramatic change of heart is as much about his guilt and confusion over his sexuality as it is about doing porn. (Keep in mind he attends a very conservative, Christian college). He claimed that money was his only motivation for doing porn, totally forgetting (or deliberately ignoring) the significant role his own bi-curiosity played in all of it. It sounds to me like he's trying to distance himself from anything "gay" as much as possible. In fact, his whole attitude and tone is so drastically different from the last time I saw him that it wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn that he's involved in some kind of deprogramming/ex-gay program.

To give you a sense of just how warped his thinking is right now, he claimed in his email that doing porn "cost him his best friend." This so-called "best friend" is the same "Christian" who Suspense had been planning to live with last summer, who kicked Suspense out when he found out he was doing gay porn. But instead of blaming his self-righteous, hypocritical asshole of a so-called "friend," Suspense blames himself and the porn!

I tried being supportive and letting Suspense know that I'm still here for him if he ever needs anything....money, a place to stay, a sympathetic listener, whatever....no strings attached. And to keep him from totally revising history, I reminded him that he's enjoyed many if not most of his scenes, especially the ones in which he's the top. (I think the videos speak for themselves).

He replied with a snide little email, basically saying I didn't know anything about him and that I need to stop acting like a psychologist who knows what he's thinking and feeling. He also said he never wanted to hear from me again. I'd never seen that cold and sarcastic side of Suspense before.

I've already decided that even in the unlikely case that Suspense would swallow his pride and beg me to do more scenes at some point in the future, I still wouldn't hire him again - he's just too confused and emotionally unstable right now. However, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if at some point even in the near future he changes his mind again and shows up in scenes for Flavaworks or other gay companies. So I guess there's still a little bit of hope for all the Suspense fans out there .

And even if he never performs in gay porn again, I'd bet my life on the fact that he *will* be chasing after guy-on-guy sex again....if he hasn't already, LOL!

This situation with Suspense has definitely hit me the hardest. I'm dealing with it much better now, but for the first couple weeks I was truly depressed. I've been putting off breaking the bad news on the blog, but I knew this was an entry I'd have to write sooner or later. Due to the intimate, reality-porn approach of my movies, I think many of you end up feeling almost as close to the models as I do, and it just wouldn't be fair not to write this "epilogue" to their BBA stories.

The new year's obviously gotten off to a pretty rough start, but I'm trying to focus on the positive and move on.

I honestly believe that all of my models are unique and irreplaceable to a certain degree. But I also agree with a porn producer friend of mine who likes to remind me that Mother Nature has provided us with a limitless supply of beautiful boys. For every hot model we lose today, there are dozens of others still waiting to be discovered, just as hot if not hotter than the one that got away.

Without a doubt, Lil Steve, D-Rel, and Suspense were major BBA players in 2009, and they will definitely be missed!

But it's a NEW YEAR and I'm very proud of BBA's newest models such as Beno, Tori, and Kenny, all of whom are developing loyal fan followings of their own and have already done some exciting work for me so far.

Instead of dwelling too much on the past, I'm trying to focus on the sexy boys still working for me as well as the new boys I've yet to discover, wondering who the Lil Steve's and D-Rel's and Suspense's of 2010 will be!

My LEAST Favorite Part Of This Job!

My *favorite* thing about this job is definitely the actual filming. There's nothing like the thrill of watching (and filming) two hot black boys get naked and fuck right there on my futon! My second favorite thing about this job is communicating with fans and customers, especially those of you who follow BBA as passionately, even obsessively, as I've followed my own favorite porn producers in the past. I love reading your blog comments and private emails, finding out which scenes you like or don't like and why, which models are your favorites and why. I like hearing your creative ideas for future video-shoots. And even though I get behind on my email and blogging from time to time, I thoroughly enjoy the ongoing, in-depth correspondences I've struck up with several of you over the past year or so, both here on the blog and privately by email.

My third favorite thing about this job is probably the editing process. It's a lot of fun sitting down and watching the raw footage from a scene I might not have watched or even thought much about since I first filmed it, which in some cases might be weeks or even months ago. I always feel like I'm experiencing it for the very first time....even the scenes that I'm in! Then figuring out the best way to cut that raw footage down to something that captures the story of that particular video-shoot in a suspenseful and stimulating way, keeping things at a reasonable length (which still ends up being *much* longer than most websites) while still preserving the sense that you the viewer are a part of the entire experience with us. That can be rather challenging sometimes, and I know I'm not always successful, but it's a part of the process I really enjoy.

My *least* favorite part of this job, however, is the actual recruiting of new models - something I've been working hard at for most of this week.

Other than the guys who've been introduced to me by other BBA models, I do all of the recruiting on my own. I'll be honest, it's extremely stressful and downright exhausting. Sure, there's the whole thrill-of-the-hunt/love-of-the-chase aspect that can be exciting sometimes. But for the most part, it involves chasing dead-ends and dealing with a lot of immaturity and game-players and bullshit. (Now that I think of it, I guess it's not all that different from online dating, LOL!).

It demands extraordinary persistence and persuasion - hours and days and sometimes even weeks of back-and-forth emails and phone-calls leading up to that solo "audition" - if it even makes it that far! For every Suspense and Lil Steve and Reggie that shows up on the website, there are literally hundreds of rejected applicants I had to weed through to find them. Not to mention the dozens of boys just as hot if not hotter than them who might nibble at the bait but don't bite, or get cold feet and back out at the very last minute, or even worse, say they'll do a scene at a certain time, only to stand me up without so much as a call, apology, or excuse.

At least I'm only dealing with local guys! I was talking with another producer the other day, and he told me that he'd been planning an entire weekend of expensive shoots with a model from clear across the country. He'd paid for the guy's flight and everything, but when he went to greet the guy at the airport, his model was nowhere to be found! The guy never even got on his flight. No calls, emails, text-messages, nothing. At least when a local guy stands me up, it only wastes an hour or two of my time....not an entire weekend and hundreds of dollars!

It's definitely a roller-coaster ride of emotions! Earlier this week, I was extremely discouraged because *nothing* seemed to be happening on the recruiting front. I'd never seen anything like it! It was so bad, in fact, that I resorted to going through old emails and contacting guys who'd expressed an interest in the past but for whatever reason had changed their minds later on. Even then, nobody seemed to be biting!

Then yesterday, suddenly *everybody* seemed to want to do porn, LOL!!! Just as I was beginning to give up hope, I found myself dealing with several exciting prospects all at once....to the point that I now have too many hot potential models wanting to work with me all at the same time! Of course I've been doing this long enough to know that all of that could change overnight, so while I'm feeling hopeful and excited about the possibilities at this particular moment, I could be right back to feeling frustrated and discouraged tomorrow!

Well, as you've probably already guessed by now, I won't be updating the website with a new scene this weekend. Hopefully you've enjoyed this month's three updates so far, and don't go anywhere because I'll be back next weekend with a fourth update before January's over!

This weekend will be devoted completely to filming. Right now it's looking like I will have at least *five* video-shoots scheduled between now and Monday, so it should be exhausting but hopefully exciting at the same time.

But I've been trying for months now to get Chris back for another shoot, with absolutely no luck whatsoever. The fact that he doesn't have a cell phone or consistent email access makes coordinating his schedule with mine and another model's nearly impossible. He seems to disappear for long stretches of time, and then the few times he pops up out of nowhere, saying he's ready to do a scene, I've either been out of town or already too busy with other models and shoots!

I'm *not* saying I've given up on Chris just yet! Suspense shares a surprising story about his latest girlfriend, who it turns out was actually a fan of his BBA scenes before they began dating, and who still supports him doing gay porn!

Some of you might complain (like you did about Beno last week) that Tori and Suspense have been featured too much in my recent updates. Please trust that I am always looking for fresh faces and trying to film hot new scenes as frequently as possible. And as much as I possibly can, I will try to bring you variety from week to week.

But also understand that BBA is still just a one-man operation. My time and budget are limited. Unlike the bigger professional studios, I don't have dozens of full-time models at my fingertips. I only have the time and money to work with so many guys at once, and when I find guys like Beno and Tori and Suspense, guys who are attractive and talented as well as reliable and fun to work with, I'm naturally going to film them as much as I possibly can before they leave for bigger studios, move out of town, change their minds about doing porn, or any number of things that could happen! As a result, you might sometimes see a model more than once in any given month. Also keep in mind that I'm just coming off a busy holiday season in which I was out of town for nearly two weeks and didn't film any new scenes for close to a month, so my scene selection's a little more limited than usual.

I should also probably warn you that Tori repeatedly uses the phrase "big-ass" throughout this scene. "Big-ass" happens to be an adjective used in casual, everyday slang to express that something is large, massive, huge, etc. Neither Tori nor I intended any offense toward those with thick/large bodies and/or bigger-than-average asses !

Website Update: Beno Breaks In A Buddy

I can't believe this year (and decade!) is almost over. I hope everyone enjoys a fun and safe New Year's Eve!

I'll kick off the new year with a website update later this weekend, but in the meantime I hope you'll take a few minutes to cast your votes in the 2nd Annual BBA Awards.

Those of you who participated in last year's awards already know they're nothing formal or fancy. There's no red carpet or official ceremony or shiny trophies handed out to the winners. This is just a fun way for you to let me know what you've enjoyed the most over the past year.

To BBA's loyal fans and members, it's a chance to think back on your favorite models and scenes from 2009 and let me and the models know what you liked the most. For me and the models, it's entertaining to see which models and scenes you choose as the winners in each category. Dragon still laughs about winning the "Best Ass" award last year, LOL!
