Important Announcement: Montez Joins BBA As Full-Time Manager & Marketing Director

As the new year gets underway, I just wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news and major changes taking place behind the scenes.

By now, most of you have at least heard of Montez, and even “met” him through his entertaining cameos in the Detroit After Dark series and Halloween Party. A long-time BBA fan going all the way back to the early Blue Futon days of Jay and Cortez, Montez first began corresponding with me by email back in the summer of 2014 about a shared social media crush. This led to more serious conversations about BBA’s lack of social media (other than this blog), and Montez generously volunteering to help us change that.

Taking on the role of BBA’s Marketing Director, Montez launched the BBA Tumblr and built it from scratch into a popular and entertaining resource for BBA-related news, previews, gifs, contests, and feedback for a large and ever-growing number of followers.

More recently, he started BBA’s Instagram and Twitter accounts, and organized our first public appearance at Detroit’s Hotter Than July Pride last summer. He has also played a pivotal role in bringing fan favorites like Blake Bishop, Shazeer, Rico Pruitt, and Manny Killa to the site.

With his skills and years of experience in both marketing and business management, Montez has not only proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the BBA team, but he has also become a close and trusted personal friend.

In an industry with a reputation for shady dealings and shameless back-stabbing, the kind of mutual loyalty, professionalism, and TRUST I’ve found with Montez is a truly rare and treasured thing. And when Montez recently came to a crossroads in his own career, it presented the perfect opportunity for me to finally offer him a position as BBA’s very first full-time salaried staff. (more…)

Michael Galletta Counts Down BBA’s Ten Best Scenes of 2017

There’s no denying that 2017 was one wild roller-coaster ride of a year, both personally and professionally. But even with its many ups and downs, and an update schedule that was admittedly all over the map at times as a result, I’m relieved and proud to be able to say that 2017 still turned out to be a pretty damn AMAZING year overall, leaving us with some truly unforgettable BBA classics that we’ll be watching and talking about for years to come.

Which brings me to my list of BBA’s Ten Best Scenes of 2017, the scenes which for a variety of reasons explained below are the ones that stood out from a VERY crowded pack as my proudest achievements and personal favorites from the past year:

#10. New York Nights: Monster Smash

It may surprise some of you to see our Halloween Party show up on this list. But I honestly had no choice BUT to include this scene when I realized just how many times I’ve “enjoyed” it in my free time 😉 .

There’s just something about seeing sexy straight basketball player Isaiah turned into the scene’s “bitch” as he’s aggressively TAG-TEAMED and stuffed with raw dick at both ends, that gets me EVERY single time. BBA “comfort food” at its best, this scene has quickly turned into the kind of trusted treat that I know I can always turn to for an instant and satisfying release at the end of a long day.

#9. Manny’s Money Moves

In a year overshadowed by outstanding performances from veteran models, this sweet and sensual encounter between two of our newest models came out of nowhere to become a year-end smash hit. And it’s crazy to think how close it came to never happening at all!

Proving once again that sometimes unplanned scenes are the best, what came depressingly close to being a total disaster turned out to be one of our most surprisingly passionate scenes of the year. The intense attraction and undeniable chemistry between Manny Killa and Luh Redd will no doubt be envied and enjoyed by all the BBA romantics out there for many years to come.

#8. Training Trapp

Destined to become a BBA classic, this was quite possibly the most steamy action between “straight” guys that I’ve EVER filmed! Saint once again shined in the role of “gay for pay” mentor, unleashing a repressed freaky side of Trapp we’d only seen glimpses of in his first scene.

#7. Detroit After Dark: Episode One

The Detroit trilogy was definitely the highlight of BBA’s summer, and one of my proudest achievements all year. But if I had to choose just one of the three scenes that best captured the humor, spontaneity, and sexual energy that defined the weekend of our very first public appearance at Hotter Than July Detroit Pride, this scene would be it.

From the new “reality TV” style editing that shared an intimate and entertaining peek at some of the personalities, laughter, and fun taking place behind the scenes, to the thrilling sight of popular actor turned “porn star” Rico Pruitt submitting to a merciless pounding from Bandit‘s raw dick, this scene had everything you could ever want from a summer porn blockbuster 😉 .

#6. Scotty: The Next Level

This just might go down as one of the most shocking and satisfying “conquests” in BBA history – and that’s including scenes where the straight guy has actually “gone all the way”! What Scotty ends up doing by the end of this shoot was almost UNTHINKABLE when he showed up for his first shoot, and even heading into THIS shoot, I had no idea it would happen.

A return to BBA’s roots with the kind of spontaneous, sparely edited scene I used to film back in the good ol’ days of the BBA Futon, this unforgettable “gay for pay” classic takes viewers behind the scenes to experience every suspenseful and SHOCKING second of an epic “straight boy seduction” right along with me, in close to real time as everything unfolded that night.

#5. Show and Tell

I don’t think I’ve ever been more wrong about a scene than I was about this one right after we filmed it. The shoot itself was extremely long, stressful, and pushed my patience to its near breaking point. I even had serious doubts about whether BBA’s viewers would like Trapp. Boy, was I wrong!

Not only did Trapp turn out to be the breakout “gay for pay” star of last year, but over time I’ve gradually grown to appreciate this scene for what it truly is: one of the most hilarious, unpredictable, and thoroughly ENTERTAINING scenes of the year!

From the comical bickering and flirtatious banter between these two real-life straight friends from the ‘hood, to the shocking ways they expand and test the limits of that friendship before the night’s over, this was one of those special scenes that had us stroking our dicks and laughing out loud at the same time!

Important Announcement Re: Revised Update Schedule

I know a lot of you seem to think I’m some kind of sadist sitting on a beach somewhere, sipping margaritas and counting stacks of money and laughing at BBA’s members while making them anxiously wait for the next website update, LOL. But nothing could be further from the truth!

The reality is that BBA consumes the vast majority of my life and my time (at a MINIMUM, 70 hours a week), and I work my ass off each and every week to plan, film, edit, process, publish, and promote the new scenes that go up on the site. Most weeks I’m trying to edit a lengthy action scene out of literally HOURS of raw footage, a process that can be extremely slow and time-consuming. I do this because I’m truly passionate about what I do and want only the best for BBA’s loyal viewers and fans.

Creating the kind of unique and exciting content that you’ve come to crave and expect is ALWAYS going to be my #1 priority and goal. Sometimes this means taking an extra few hours to create a “previously on” intro montage to enhance a scene with added context and suspense. Or devoting an extra hour or two to making subtitles for parts of quiet or mumbled dialogue that I know will make the scene ten times hotter.

Sometimes these types of creative choices result in scenes going up on the site several hours or even a day or two later than planned. Sometimes it means taking entire weekends off to focus on special trips and production plans. As a long-time porn consumer myself, I’m sympathetic to the frustration and impatience that comes with having to wait for new content. But at the end of the day, I am ALWAYS going to prioritize creating the hottest possible content over meeting an arbitrary and creatively restrictive deadline.

With this in mind, I’ve come to the humbling realization over the past several months that I simply can’t keep up with the expensive and exhausting pace of production demanded by a weekly schedule, at least not if I want to continue producing the kinds of unique, lengthy, and often costly scenes that I’m proud to share with BBA’s members.

Too often, this has led to situations where I feel pressured into posting inferior and disappointing content just to keep up with an unrealistic schedule. And more often than not, viewers end up feeling just as frustrated and disappointed by the weak update as they would have been if I’d posted nothing at all!

After consulting with Montez and other peers in the industry, I’ve made the difficult decision to scale BBA’s update schedule back to THREE updates a month instead of four, with the updates still being posted on Fridays. The “off” weekends will vary depending on my travel and production schedule, and on these weekends I think I’m going to try something new by highlighting classic scenes from the archives that BBA’s viewers might have forgotten about or simply never discovered – at discounted rates for a limited time.

As always, my goal will continue to be delivering unique and unforgettable scenes on enough of a regular basis that a monthly subscription will still be worthwhile. If for whatever reason, you don’t feel like this is the case, or your personal porn tastes tend to be pretty narrow, then I’d encourage you to check out our credits alternative that allows you to enjoy BBA’s content on a scene by scene basis. Your credits will never expire, and you can spend them only on the models and scenes that really interest you.

If you want sloppy and forgettable 20-minute scenes featuring the same over-exposed “porn stars” over and over, then there are certainly other sites that will offer that like clockwork at the same exact time every week – and in most cases, charge you MORE in the process. I could easily update the site every week if I was settling for that same shitty standard.

If, on the other hand, you value the types of lengthy, unique scenes that BBA offers, then I hope you’ll be able to respect and appreciate the time, expense, and hard work that goes into making them possible and understand this much-needed change in the update schedule.

My hope is that this adjusted schedule will provide a bit more breathing room for the creative process and allow me to focus more on quality over quantity, ultimately resulting in a better and more consistently satisfying experience for EVERYONE going forward.

Summer Schedule Update

Sorry for being such a stranger here on the blog lately! Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday weekend.

It’s been a pretty crazy summer around here so far…..I’ve been robbed at gunpoint by a former model (thankfully nobody was hurt), our first attempt at a public appearance was a total disaster (more on that later), I found myself less than 15 feet away from a grizzly bear in the Canadian Rockies (again, thankfully nobody got hurt), had to cut ties with a sleazy and dishonest business associate after catching him in an elaborate betrayal and scam, and on top of everything else been battling a miserable cold for over a week.

Not exactly your ordinary, average summer so far, LOL! But then again, anyone who’s been following this blog for any length of time already knows this has been anything but an ordinary life ever since I started BBA nearly ten years ago.

I’m happy to hear that the vast majority of you have been enjoying the fresh faces and exciting new scenes we’ve been bringing you lately. I know the recent update schedule has been far from ideal, but at the same time I personally think this year overall has featured some of our best and hottest scenes ever and I’m extremely proud of the content we’ve been bringing our loyal members so far. And the year’s still only halfway over!

Since my personal and production schedules are still far from back to normal, I’ve decided to continue with the unconventional, two updates every other week schedule for at least one more month. I honestly don’t like this any more than most of you seem to, and I have no intentions of making this a permanent change, but for now it’s the best and easiest way for me to continue bringing you the same amount of new content on a still somewhat regular basis.

And just to clarify, BBA’s monthly subscribers are still receiving the same number of updates, just spaced out a bit differently than usual. I hope to resume the regular weekly schedule some time in August.

Thanks for your continued patience with this temporary summer schedule. Hope everyone enjoys the TWO hot and lengthy new scenes just posted this past weekend, and while you’re anxiously waiting for next weekend to arrive, please enjoy the MANY hot and action-packed scenes from the past couple months, and/or any of the other 300-plus scenes currently available to BBA’s monthly subscribers.

Spring Season 2017 Kick-Off (Coming Soon!)

I just wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be resuming the regular weekly schedule and officially kicking off BBA’s Spring Season starting next week (March 9th/10th).

I’m relieved and happy to be able to report that production of new content is finally back in full swing, and recent video-shoots have been VERY productive and successful so far. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to start sharing with you some of the hot surprises in store for our upcoming Spring season. I’ll try to post some preview pics and teasers in the near future.

While frustrating and regrettable to be sure, this recent break from the weekly schedule has reminded me of a couple very important but easily forgotten things:

First, just how much I LOVE my dream job of making hot porn! Not that I ever STOPPED loving it, but sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down in the pressures and stress of keeping up with the weekly schedule, and lose sight of why I started doing this in the first place.

Nobody takes it harder than I do when setbacks and disruptions keep me from delivering the kind of high-quality content that I strive to bring BBA’s viewers year round. But these recent shoots have been an enormous and encouraging relief, and reminded me just how much fun this job can be when I have a little creative room to breathe and things actually go according to plan!

The second thing I’ve been reminded of these past couple weeks is that BBA really does have the BEST FANS in the business! And I’m not talking about the thieves and cheapskates and freeloaders who call themselves “fans” but only watch what they’re able to find on illegal piracy sites. No, I’m talking about the TRUE, passionate, loyal, dedicated fans who consistently show their love and support by subscribing and/or buying credits on a regular basis, many of you since the early X-Tube and good ol’ Blue Futon days!

I was fully prepared for all kinds of anger and negativity to be hurled in my direction when I posted that blog announcement a few weeks ago, but instead I have received nothing but an outpouring of encouragement and support from the vast majority of you over these past couple weeks.

It’s always nice being reminded that my hard work is enjoyed and appreciated by so many passionate and loyal viewers all over the world, especially during difficult down-times like this. The words of support and encouragement expressed by so many of you over these past couple weeks have been more inspiring and rejuvenating than you’ll ever know!

Despite being a downright AWFUL year when it came to things like the presidential election, celebrity deaths, and just about everything else, I can thankfully say that when it came to BBA, 2016 was actually a very good year!

It introduced some of the hottest new models I’ve filmed in years and left us with some truly unforgettable BBA classics that we’ll be watching and talking about for years to come.

If there was any one overarching theme for the year, I’d say it was probably a return to BBA’s roots. Of course this sometimes confused and even pissed off newer viewers expecting more conventional gay action scenes, while reminding and reassuring long-time viewers that we haven’t forgotten what makes BBA irreplaceable and unique.

BBA’s Fall Break (American Apocalypse Edition)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be updating the website this week.

Like many of you this past week, I have been reeling with shock, anger, disgust, and despair in response to one of the most historic and truly terrifying political events of my lifetime. With the help of family and friends, and even a few long-time BBA fans, I have been struggling to comprehend what the FUCK just happened, and what exactly it means for my friends, my family, my models, my future, BBA’s future, and most importantly, this country’s future.

Needless to say, the shocking events of this past week have been consuming all of the time, attention, and energy that would normally be devoted to bringing you a hot and lengthy new scene like I usually do every Thursday.

I’m truly sorry that I’m unable to provide the kind of comfort and escape that so many of us are desperately needing right now.

Website Update: Seducing Shaun #2

When we last saw Shaun, he seemed pretty distraught and embarrassed by what had spontaneously ended up happening near the end of his last shoot.

Michael In The Movies (2016 Version)

Thanks for the enthusiastic feedback from so many of you in response to my recent scene with Bandit! I’m thrilled and flattered to hear that so many of you are enjoying this scene.

To those of you complaining about me appearing in a very relatively small handful of BBA’s scenes, I fully understand that these types of scenes will ALWAYS be controversial and unappealing to some. It would be ridiculous for me to expect these types of scenes to turn on every BBA viewer, and I totally get and respect that seeing me in the scenes will inevitably disappoint and even repulse many viewers.

What I find to be hypocritical and annoying, however, is when people take this criticism to the next level by acting like their personal disgust is universally shared, complaining about me sadistically “subjecting” them to these scenes, and basically demanding that I cater to their more conventional tastes with every scene that I post.

Believe it or not, there’s a large and passionate audience for these types of scenes. All you have to do is skim the blog and website comments to see that there are MANY viewers who not only don’t share your aversion and disgust, but actually ENJOY this type of unique and taboo content! Like it or not, literally thousands of people all over the planet have been busting hot “nutts” to me popping Bandit’s cherry within the past 48 hours.

Those of you criticizing my body and looks are COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT. I’m not suffering from some kind of delusion that makes me think I’m the next Brad Pitt or God’s gift to gay porn, LOL. I don’t take any of these insults personally because I’ve never claimed to be anything other than a pale, average-looking, out-of-shape, balding, corny/nerdy white guy with a relatively small/average dick who happens to have an incurable “black boy addiction” and decided several years ago to share that addiction with my fellow addicts 😉 .

In other words, you’re not SUPPOSED to find me attractive, and the CONTRAST between my age and looks with those of the models is kind of the whole point, LOL!

I’ve proposed a theory several times on this blog in the past that those who most viscerally despise my “dirty old man” scenes tend to be “bottoms” or “versatile bottoms” while those who enjoy them the most tend to be “tops” or “versatile tops.” Because at the end of the day, porn is primarily about a process of IDENTIFICATION and living vicariously through the performers on the screen.

So if your main interest as a porn viewer is watching hung, attractive “tops” and picturing yourself in the place of the lucky “bottoms” being fucked by them, then nine times out of ten you’re going to dislike seeing me in the scenes. On the other hand, if you are primarily IDENTIFYING WITH and envying rather than lusting after the “top,” these types of scenes will be much more arousing and appealing for you.

For those open-minded viewers with a sincere interest in better understanding why I film these types of scenes, below is a re-post of my reflections on this topic from a few years ago, attempting to explain the reasoning behind these types of scenes and their place in a long history and popular genre going back decades in both gay and straight porn:

I just wanted to take a moment and respond to the recent complaints from several of you about my participation in some of the scenes.

BBA has always featured a wide variety of models and themes. In an older blog entry, I compared my diverse collection of movies to an all-you-can-eat buffet.

I realize that this variety can be frustrating for viewers who only enjoy one type of scene or another. Some people love the interracial and “gay for pay” scenes but think the black-only scenes are conventional and boring. Other people enjoy the black-only scenes but think my interracial scenes are unappealing and even offensive.

At the end of the day, everyone has different tastes and I am never going to be able to please every viewer all of the time!

Anyone who’s been following my work from the very beginning knows that one of BBA’s basic themes has always been the taboo fantasy of an older white man exploring his “addiction” to younger black males….and more uniquely, his addiction to young black male ass (“white men need ass too!”).

As I clearly advertise in the site’s preview area: “If you’re turned on by the idea of an older white cameraman enjoying the ripe young bodies of his black-boy models, I’m confident you’ll enjoy my movies!”

Now I can certainly understand and respect that these types of scenes are not going to be everybody’s cup of tea. My interracial scenes always have been and always will be controversial. The recent comments left by some of you on the blog are actually pretty mild and tame compared to some of the hostile things I’ve heard over the years.
