Website Update: Seducing Shaun #2

When we last saw Shaun, he seemed pretty distraught and embarrassed by what had spontaneously ended up happening near the end of his last shoot.

“I feel HELLA GAY, bro!” he guiltily confessed, shaking his head in disbelief and dismay at not only what he’d allowed to take place, but also at how surprisingly GOOD it had felt. “I ain’t gay, though!” he was quick to insist, probably more to reassure himself than me or anyone else.

Based on his distance and demeanor in the weeks that followed, I had serious doubts about whether Shaun would ever return, let alone take things to the next level. But I never back down from a challenge, and I’ve been doing this long enough to learn that seducing real-life straight boys like Shaun requires time, money, and most important of all, PATIENCE!

I obviously have a huge weakness for barely-legal ‘hood boys like Shaun, and probably not since D-Rel have I desired one of the models this much. So I decided to splurge above and beyond what I’d normally spend on this type of scene in order to make it happen.

After a little over a month of slow and stressful back and forth negotiations, Shaun finally agreed to return for another entertaining encounter full of reluctant “firsts” and surprises….

Michael In The Movies (2016 Version)

Thanks for the enthusiastic feedback from so many of you in response to my recent scene with Bandit! I’m thrilled and flattered to hear that so many of you are enjoying this scene.

To those of you complaining about me appearing in a very relatively small handful of BBA’s scenes, I fully understand that these types of scenes will ALWAYS be controversial and unappealing to some. It would be ridiculous for me to expect these types of scenes to turn on every BBA viewer, and I totally get and respect that seeing me in the scenes will inevitably disappoint and even repulse many viewers.

What I find to be hypocritical and annoying, however, is when people take this criticism to the next level by acting like their personal disgust is universally shared, complaining about me sadistically “subjecting” them to these scenes, and basically demanding that I cater to their more conventional tastes with every scene that I post.

Believe it or not, there’s a large and passionate audience for these types of scenes. All you have to do is skim the blog and website comments to see that there are MANY viewers who not only don’t share your aversion and disgust, but actually ENJOY this type of unique and taboo content! Like it or not, literally thousands of people all over the planet have been busting hot “nutts” to me popping Bandit’s cherry within the past 48 hours.

Those of you criticizing my body and looks are COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT. I’m not suffering from some kind of delusion that makes me think I’m the next Brad Pitt or God’s gift to gay porn, LOL. I don’t take any of these insults personally because I’ve never claimed to be anything other than a pale, average-looking, out-of-shape, balding, corny/nerdy white guy with a relatively small/average dick who happens to have an incurable “black boy addiction” and decided several years ago to share that addiction with my fellow addicts 😉 .

In other words, you’re not SUPPOSED to find me attractive, and the CONTRAST between my age and looks with those of the models is kind of the whole point, LOL!

I’ve proposed a theory several times on this blog in the past that those who most viscerally despise my “dirty old man” scenes tend to be “bottoms” or “versatile bottoms” while those who enjoy them the most tend to be “tops” or “versatile tops.” Because at the end of the day, porn is primarily about a process of IDENTIFICATION and living vicariously through the performers on the screen.

So if your main interest as a porn viewer is watching hung, attractive “tops” and picturing yourself in the place of the lucky “bottoms” being fucked by them, then nine times out of ten you’re going to dislike seeing me in the scenes. On the other hand, if you are primarily IDENTIFYING WITH and envying rather than lusting after the “top,” these types of scenes will be much more arousing and appealing for you.

For those open-minded viewers with a sincere interest in better understanding why I film these types of scenes, below is a re-post of my reflections on this topic from a few years ago, attempting to explain the reasoning behind these types of scenes and their place in a long history and popular genre going back decades in both gay and straight porn:

I just wanted to take a moment and respond to the recent complaints from several of you about my participation in some of the scenes.

BBA has always featured a wide variety of models and themes. In an older blog entry, I compared my diverse collection of movies to an all-you-can-eat buffet.

I realize that this variety can be frustrating for viewers who only enjoy one type of scene or another. Some people love the interracial and “gay for pay” scenes but think the black-only scenes are conventional and boring. Other people enjoy the black-only scenes but think my interracial scenes are unappealing and even offensive.

At the end of the day, everyone has different tastes and I am never going to be able to please every viewer all of the time!

Anyone who’s been following my work from the very beginning knows that one of BBA’s basic themes has always been the taboo fantasy of an older white man exploring his “addiction” to younger black males….and more uniquely, his addiction to young black male ass (“white men need ass too!”).

As I clearly advertise in the site’s preview area: “If you’re turned on by the idea of an older white cameraman enjoying the ripe young bodies of his black-boy models, I’m confident you’ll enjoy my movies!”

Now I can certainly understand and respect that these types of scenes are not going to be everybody’s cup of tea. My interracial scenes always have been and always will be controversial. The recent comments left by some of you on the blog are actually pretty mild and tame compared to some of the hostile things I’ve heard over the years.

Website Update (with Video Teaser): Bandit Bends Over

Anyone who’s been following BBA for awhile knows that I usually try to be patient and take things slow with the newer straight models, not wanting to ask too much and risk scaring them away too soon.

But after already lending him a significant amount of money, I knew I had a special window of opportunity when Bandit recently got arrested and needed bailed out of jail.

Unlike most gay porn producers who would no doubt be content focusing solely on that famous baseball bat swinging between Bandit‘s skinny legs, I’ve been much more interested in exploring a DIFFERENT side of Bandit – literally 😉 !

“BBA’s not a charity!” I bluntly informed Bandit when he begged for my help, explaining that in exchange for my generous financial assistance over the past several months, including bailing him out of jail, I expected him to return the favor by taking things to the NEXT LEVEL and doing some of the things he’d initially sworn that he would never in a million years ever do.

Website Update: Seducing Shaun

Last week, we met a cocky straight boy who stubbornly swore during his solo “audition” that he’d NEVER do anything with a guy – the attitude that most of our straight models have starting out.

This week we’re taking things one step further by showing what’s possible when a similarly skeptical straight boy returns for a surprising follow-up shoot several weeks later.

Website Update: The Forbidden Fruit #3

Persuading Julien to do anything more than get his dick sucked and try fucking a guy was one of the more difficult negotiations I’ve been through in awhile. Especially when it came to anything involving his ASS!

Too Gay or Not Too Gay, That Is The Question…

The whole “Gay For Pay” concept is a lot like climate change. Denying its existence doesn’t make it any less real 😛 .

Now of course there are about a thousand different shades of gray between 100% Gay and 100% Straight, and I realize that part of the fun for many viewers is trying to figure out where each new model lands on that spectrum, and/or watching with surprise and excitement as each model explores and evolves and in some cases even changes positions on that spectrum over time.

If nothing else, BBA has certainly proven just how complex, contradictory, and dare I say even “corruptible” human sexuality can be.

But I do think an important distinction needs to be made between sexual ACTS vs. sexual ORIENTATION. They are not always necessarily one and the same thing! And it’s sometimes frustrating to hear gay viewers leveling the same accusations against BBA’s “gay for pay” models that they already hear enough from homophobic family and friends if and when their scenes are discovered. Namely, that they are “gay” simply because they’re on a gay website doing gay things.

Sexual orientation should be defined by one’s desires and behavior in everyday life, not sexual acts performed for entertainment purposes in exchange for large sums of money. Under the right circumstances, I could theoretically pop some Viagra, watch gay porn on my phone, and have “straight for pay” sex with a female. But that wouldn’t make me any less gay! In the same way that I know from FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE that regardless of whether viewers want to believe it or not, some of these guys doing “gay for pay” porn are in fact STRAIGHT in their “real,” everyday lives.

Now this is where the question of authenticity comes into play, and the recent complaints from some viewers about what they perceive as “over-acting” by some of the models. I do realize that I’m partly to blame for muddying these already murky waters by introducing an element of “acting” into the mix over the past couple years.

To better understand the context for this, just browse through this blog’s archives and take a look at some of the feedback to the earliest scenes from models like Stephon and Isaiah. You’ll find countless complaints, some quite hostile and rude, about the guys being too stiff, boring, reluctant, emotionless, corpse-like, etc. Which is why it’s both frustrating and amusing to see some of these very same people now complaining about the same models being *TOO* passionate, energetic, “gay,” etc.

With the notable exceptions of anomalies like Saint and Apollo, straight guys doing “gay for pay” porn are simply NEVER going to perform like your favorite gay “porn stars.” They will always fall somewhere on the spectrum between the extremes of “too boring” vs. “too fake.”

I’ll admit, my own feelings on this subject are somewhat conflicted. In BBA’s early years, I was much more of a “purist” who prided myself on keeping things 100% authentic and unscripted, even if that meant showing the straight guys practically breaking down into tears and/or reaching for the wastebasket to throw up, LOL.

And while authentic “reality porn” is still very much what the BBA brand’s all about, I have definitely responded to pressure from viewers and compromised on this approach somewhat over time. Photos From Phoenix

Just got back from this year’s Phoenix Forum, an annual adult industry trade show. Had an AMAZING time and came away from the experience feeling more educated, rejuvenated, and motivated than ever before to make BBA the best black gay website it can possibly be!

Hosted at a beautiful resort in sunny Tempe, Arizona (right outside of Phoenix), it was pretty much your usual business convention during the day, with lots of meetings, networking, and seminars led by panels of experts from some of the most successful brands in the business on topics ranging from Virtual Reality as the potential future of porn, to tips on adapting and succeeding in a rapidly changing market, to the various legal and political challenges facing the porn industry today.

As you might expect, things got a little wilder at night with music, dancing, strippers, poker, and various parties catering to both the gay and straight crowds. On Friday night, they even had a live concert featuring the Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man and Mix Master Mike of Beastie Boys fame.

This year’s show overlapped with Isaiah‘s Spring Break, and since I was already planning to do some filming with him earlier in the week, I invited him to join me and represent the BBA models.

It wasn’t exactly the most racially diverse crowd, so a 6’3″ tall black college basketball player with Isaiah’s physique and striking good looks turned plenty of heads – and hopefully had many pulling up the site on their phones to check out his scenes 😉 !

This was no doubt the largest crowd of gay men he’s ever been around at one time, and I think he was a bit overwhelmed by everything at first, but ended up coming out of his shell and having a fun time with everyone. I’m sure the free lap-dances from the female strippers didn’t hurt either, LOL! (Check out the BBA Tumblr for some gifs from one of his many lap-dances). He has told me several times that it was his best Spring Break ever, and an unforgettable adventure for him for sure!

One unexpected highlight is that I finally got to meet and hang out with the creator and owner of FlavaWorks in person for the very first time, as well as his new exclusive model Trey Donovan who I personally think is one of the hottest and most exciting new faces in black gay porn today. And believe it or not, he’s even sexier in person! (Reminded me A LOT of Blake Bishop).

It was definitely more than a little surreal to be hanging out and discussing business as an industry PEER with someone whose groundbreaking company and websites I was watching as an obsessed fan long before BBA ever began!
