Four Reactions to “Gay For Pay” Porn: Which One Are You?

As expected, the feedback to our latest update has been all over the map. After filming these types of scenes for over a decade now (yikes, I’m sounding old lol), I’ve noticed that the feedback tends to fall pretty predictably into the following four types of reactions:

The Haters:

These are the people who despise the entire “gay for pay” genre and can’t understand why anyone would ever want to watch a reluctant straight guy having awkward gay sex for the very first time. They only want to see experienced and passionate sex between eager gay and bisexual guys, and usually act like every other porn viewer should feel the same way they do.

(Of course these same people complaining about the straight guys being too stiff, uncomfortable, quiet, awkward, blindfolded, etc. are always the first and loudest to let everyone know “they knew all along,” “he was gay from the start,” etc., etc. if/when after months or even years of hard work and patient persistence, we’re lucky enough to persuade the guy to do more).

I understand and respect those who dislike this type of porn, just as I do those who ONLY enjoy these types of scenes and wish we’d quit working with gay and bi models altogether.

But unless you just discovered BBA for the very first time last week, please stop acting all shocked and appalled that we’d even dare to contemplate producing such a scene, like it’s some of kind scam or outrage to you as a customer. Most of you know perfectly well this is one of BBA’s original and most iconic themes, and one we have no intentions of abandoning any time soon. So please just relax and take comfort in the fact that we feature a wide variety of models and themes here at BBA from one week to the next.

The UN-Realists:

These are the impatient viewers who CLAIM they want to see straight guys doing “gay for pay” porn, but have wildly unrealistic expectations about what straight guys will and won’t do right out of the gate.

You can’t ask for porn starring authentically straight black males and then turn around and expect them to be passionately tongue-kissing, sucking dick, and/or getting gang-banged by their third scene, LOL. That’s just not how this type of thing works, and demanding otherwise is both unfair to the models and the authenticity of the genre. Which brings me to the next group….

The Deniers:

These are the skeptics who claim it’s ALL just scripted and faked, the “straight” guys are just gay actors presenting a staged fantasy, all the scenes just follow the same predictable scripted formula, blah blah blah.

Of course these critics conveniently ignore the countless examples throughout BBA history of straight models who never end up doing anything more than a solo “audition,” or depart from this alleged “formula” by progressing in an unexpected and unconventional order (Scotty and Shaun, for example), or freak out and disappear before ever “going all the way.”

Armando Back Tease

Seriously, don’t you think if these guys were just gay actors and it was all planned out in advance, we would have seen Armando aggressively fucking some tight boy-ass by now, or Miguel with gobs of cum dripping from his disgusted face as the hot straight boy bottom in a bukkake, or best of all, the much-requested epic flip-flop threesome starring straight “homeboys” Shaun, Scotty, and Trapp?!?

I always tell BBA’s skeptics to just look at our many “failures” to better understand and appreciate the REALNESS and significance of our stand-out successes.

Hotter Than July Detroit Pride 2018

We want to thank everyone who came out this past weekend to show their love and support for BBA and Hotter Than July Detroit Pride.

Michael, Montez, Stylez, Blake Bishop, Jay C, Bandit, and Manny Killa all enjoyed meeting our amazing fans. Whether it was at the Palmer Park Picnic, casino, or club, every interaction was positive and inspiring.

We weren’t sure if we’d be able to top last year, but you all helped us make 2018 even bigger and better! A special shout-out to Jamesion, Curtis and the rest of the Hotter Than July team for their support and hospitality.

BBA’s “Consistency” Catch-22

Almost ten years into this crazy adventure called BBA, I think it’s safe to say that keeping to a consistent update schedule isn’t exactly one of my strengths, LOL. And quite honestly, unless BBA sells out and turns into some corporate mega porn site one of these days, I think this will probably always be the case.

That’s not to say I won’t continue striving to grow and improve in this area. I know it’s a source of great frustration for many of you. But I think it’s also worth pointing out the “Catch 22” at play here: the very same “inconsistency” many of you complain about also tends to go hand in hand with the kind of unique, lengthy content you clearly crave and are impatient to see.

It’s clear from some of the recent complaints that many of you still seem to have a VERY naive and unrealistic misconception that BBA’s scenes are somehow cheap, fast, and easy to make, and/or that I’m just sadistically sitting on a pile of completed scenes for the hell of it, when nothing could be further from the truth!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: BBA’s scenes aren’t the kind of product that can be churned out by some factory assembly line week after week. At least not the kind of content I’m interested in making!

If you want forgettable 15-minute scenes featuring the same over-exposed “porn stars” over and over, then there are plenty of other sites that can offer you that like clockwork at the same exact time every week. And usually charge you MORE for it in the process. I could EASILY update BBA at the same exact time week after week if I was settling for that same sloppy standard.

I understand that BBA’s monthly subscribers are paying their hard-earned money with an expectation of new scenes in return. And as a long-time porn consumer myself, I know it’s never fun to have to wait for new updates.

But at the end of the day, I am ALWAYS going to prioritize creating the hottest possible content over sticking to some arbitrary and creatively restrictive schedule. What happened last weekend is a perfect example of this.

Whenever I’ve been unable to fulfill my end of the bargain, which has admittedly been more often than I’d like, I’ve always offered complimentary extensions or made it up to our loyal monthly subscribers with extra content the following month. For example, I’m currently working hard behind the scenes to post FOUR updates this month as promised to make up for the lack of a third update last month. (Still not sure exactly when the next one will be ready, but likely around the middle of next week, possibly with another to follow shortly after that). (more…)

Official Fan Favorites from 2017

Despite our best efforts, just about everything that could possibly go wrong to sabotage our hot plans has happened these past couple weeks. It’s been disappointing and frustrating to say the least. But we’re not giving up, and new updates will hopefully still be resuming later this month (don’t have an exact date for you yet). As previously announced, all active memberships have been credited with a free month.

Michael Galletta Counts Down BBA’s Ten Best Scenes of 2017

There’s no denying that 2017 was one wild roller-coaster ride of a year, both personally and professionally. But even with its many ups and downs, and an update schedule that was admittedly all over the map at times as a result, I’m relieved and proud to be able to say that 2017 still turned out to be a pretty damn AMAZING year overall, leaving us with some truly unforgettable BBA classics that we’ll be watching and talking about for years to come.

Which brings me to my list of BBA’s Ten Best Scenes of 2017, the scenes which for a variety of reasons explained below are the ones that stood out from a VERY crowded pack as my proudest achievements and personal favorites from the past year:

#10. New York Nights: Monster Smash

It may surprise some of you to see our Halloween Party show up on this list. But I honestly had no choice BUT to include this scene when I realized just how many times I’ve “enjoyed” it in my free time 😉 .

There’s just something about seeing sexy straight basketball player Isaiah turned into the scene’s “bitch” as he’s aggressively TAG-TEAMED and stuffed with raw dick at both ends, that gets me EVERY single time. BBA “comfort food” at its best, this scene has quickly turned into the kind of trusted treat that I know I can always turn to for an instant and satisfying release at the end of a long day.

#9. Manny’s Money Moves

In a year overshadowed by outstanding performances from veteran models, this sweet and sensual encounter between two of our newest models came out of nowhere to become a year-end smash hit. And it’s crazy to think how close it came to never happening at all!

Proving once again that sometimes unplanned scenes are the best, what came depressingly close to being a total disaster turned out to be one of our most surprisingly passionate scenes of the year. The intense attraction and undeniable chemistry between Manny Killa and Luh Redd will no doubt be envied and enjoyed by all the BBA romantics out there for many years to come.

#8. Training Trapp

Destined to become a BBA classic, this was quite possibly the most steamy action between “straight” guys that I’ve EVER filmed! Saint once again shined in the role of “gay for pay” mentor, unleashing a repressed freaky side of Trapp we’d only seen glimpses of in his first scene.

Their dark, tangled bodies glistening with baby oil and sweat as they roll around naked on the floor for our private entertainment, putting on a show so intensely homoerotic it could have made the Ancient Greeks blush, proved once again that you don’t always need hardcore action for a scene to earn multiple “nutts”!

#7. Detroit After Dark: Episode One

The Detroit trilogy was definitely the highlight of BBA’s summer, and one of my proudest achievements all year. But if I had to choose just one of the three scenes that best captured the humor, spontaneity, and sexual energy that defined the weekend of our very first public appearance at Hotter Than July Detroit Pride, this scene would be it.

From the new “reality TV” style editing that shared an intimate and entertaining peek at some of the personalities, laughter, and fun taking place behind the scenes, to the thrilling sight of popular actor turned “porn star” Rico Pruitt submitting to a merciless pounding from Bandit‘s raw dick, this scene had everything you could ever want from a summer porn blockbuster 😉 .

#6. Scotty: The Next Level

This just might go down as one of the most shocking and satisfying “conquests” in BBA history – and that’s including scenes where the straight guy has actually “gone all the way”! What Scotty ends up doing by the end of this shoot was almost UNTHINKABLE when he showed up for his first shoot, and even heading into THIS shoot, I had no idea it would happen.

A return to BBA’s roots with the kind of spontaneous, sparely edited scene I used to film back in the good ol’ days of the BBA Futon, this unforgettable “gay for pay” classic takes viewers behind the scenes to experience every suspenseful and SHOCKING second of an epic “straight boy seduction” right along with me, in close to real time as everything unfolded that night.

#5. Show and Tell

I don’t think I’ve ever been more wrong about a scene than I was about this one right after we filmed it. The shoot itself was extremely long, stressful, and pushed my patience to its near breaking point. I even had serious doubts about whether BBA’s viewers would like Trapp. Boy, was I wrong!

Not only did Trapp turn out to be the breakout “gay for pay” star of last year, but over time I’ve gradually grown to appreciate this scene for what it truly is: one of the most hilarious, unpredictable, and thoroughly ENTERTAINING scenes of the year!

From the comical bickering and flirtatious banter between these two real-life straight friends from the ‘hood, to the shocking ways they expand and test the limits of that friendship before the night’s over, this was one of those special scenes that had us stroking our dicks and laughing out loud at the same time!

Spring Season 2017 Kick-Off (Coming Soon!)

I just wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be resuming the regular weekly schedule and officially kicking off BBA’s Spring Season starting next week (March 9th/10th).

I’m relieved and happy to be able to report that production of new content is finally back in full swing, and recent video-shoots have been VERY productive and successful so far. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to start sharing with you some of the hot surprises in store for our upcoming Spring season. I’ll try to post some preview pics and teasers in the near future.

While frustrating and regrettable to be sure, this recent break from the weekly schedule has reminded me of a couple very important but easily forgotten things:

First, just how much I LOVE my dream job of making hot porn! Not that I ever STOPPED loving it, but sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down in the pressures and stress of keeping up with the weekly schedule, and lose sight of why I started doing this in the first place.

Nobody takes it harder than I do when setbacks and disruptions keep me from delivering the kind of high-quality content that I strive to bring BBA’s viewers year round. But these recent shoots have been an enormous and encouraging relief, and reminded me just how much fun this job can be when I have a little creative room to breathe and things actually go according to plan!

The second thing I’ve been reminded of these past couple weeks is that BBA really does have the BEST FANS in the business! And I’m not talking about the thieves and cheapskates and freeloaders who call themselves “fans” but only watch what they’re able to find on illegal piracy sites. No, I’m talking about the TRUE, passionate, loyal, dedicated fans who consistently show their love and support by subscribing and/or buying credits on a regular basis, many of you since the early X-Tube and good ol’ Blue Futon days!

I was fully prepared for all kinds of anger and negativity to be hurled in my direction when I posted that blog announcement a few weeks ago, but instead I have received nothing but an outpouring of encouragement and support from the vast majority of you over these past couple weeks.

It’s always nice being reminded that my hard work is enjoyed and appreciated by so many passionate and loyal viewers all over the world, especially during difficult down-times like this. The words of support and encouragement expressed by so many of you over these past couple weeks have been more inspiring and rejuvenating than you’ll ever know!

Despite being a downright AWFUL year when it came to things like the presidential election, celebrity deaths, and just about everything else, I can thankfully say that when it came to BBA, 2016 was actually a very good year!

It introduced some of the hottest new models I’ve filmed in years and left us with some truly unforgettable BBA classics that we’ll be watching and talking about for years to come.

If there was any one overarching theme for the year, I’d say it was probably a return to BBA’s roots. Of course this sometimes confused and even pissed off newer viewers expecting more conventional gay action scenes, while reminding and reassuring long-time viewers that we haven’t forgotten what makes BBA irreplaceable and unique.

Instead of featuring special guests and high-profile “take-downs” like we have in years past, we kept things simple and returned our focus to one of BBA’s original and most popular themes: seducing straight black boys and finding out just “how gay they will go” for the right price!

Which brings me to my list of BBA’s Ten Best Scenes of 2016, the scenes which for a variety of reasons explained below are the ones that kept me “cumming” back for repeat viewings again and again, and stood out from a crowded pack as my proudest achievements and personal favorites:

Technically not much more than a two-for-the-price-of-one solo “audition,” some might be surprised to see this scene show up on my list. But “solo” or not, there’s no denying that this was also one of the most hilarious, unpredictable, and thoroughly ENTERTAINING video-shoots I filmed all year!

From the comedic interview that perfectly conveyed the cute and endearing closeness of these two real-life straight best friends from the ‘hood better than any professional porn script ever could, to the hilariously awkward shower encounter that found them standing side by side NAKED for the VERY FIRST TIME, this was one of those rare scenes that had us stroking our dicks and laughing out loud at the same time!

#9. His New Stepbrother

This fun little departure from our usual “reality porn” format to experiment with a more scripted role-playing fantasy ended up creating some of the most vividly erotic images from any scene we produced all year. When I finally brought together BBA’s two most popular straight models of all time for one of the most requested scene pairings in BBA history, the results were no less explosive than one would expect.
